NCBTMB Launches Certification Board Elections, Reiterates Commitment to Board Certification

Burr Ridge, Ill. (February 1, 2017) – The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today the launch of its Certification Board elections. Eligible voters have until February 15, 2017 at 11:59 PM Central Time to participate.

“In only a few short weeks, 2017 continues to build positive momentum for the entire NCBTMB community,” commented Steve Kirin, chief executive officer. “In the same spirit, this Certification Board reaffirms NCB’s unified commitment to Board Certification and our responsibility to ensure it is carried out properly. The four individuals up for election represent a balanced mix of seasoned, experienced professionals that bring energy and complementary skills sure to advance the credential and further our mission.”

The four professionals selected to join the NCBTMB Certification Board are as follows: Brenda Jeanne Baker, BA, MA, LMT, BCTMB, Jill Kristin Berkana, LMT, BCTMB, Teresa M. Matthews, LMT, CPT, BCTMB, and Dr. Stuart Watts, D.O.M.

The NCBTMB Certification Board is responsible for all aspects of the achievement of Board Certification, including developing certification criteria and examinations, evaluating candidates for certification, and maintaining the integrity of the certification process. The Certification Board ensures that NCBTMB maintains its status as an accredited certifying body within the massage therapy profession.

All eligible voters as of January 26, 2017 will receive login and ballot information via email no later than February 2, 2017. Voting closes Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:59 PM Central Time.

Election results to be released in Spring 2017.
