Each state is separate and has the privilege to set its own parameters for the continuing education of their licensed professionals. Most states accept NCBTMB approved continuing education courses; however, some have created their own guidelines or limits for content they are willing to accept, along with content they require to be completed. Some have placed limits on the type (ex. home study, webinar, live) of course hours which can be accepted, and, additionally, some states have their own programs entirely.
It is for this reason NCBTMB suggests you present your courses to prospective students as NCBTMB Approved. It is best you recommend each Massage Therapist to check directly with their state to ensure the NCBTMB approved course they wish to take with you will be accepted. NCBTMB also advises that when planning to teach a course in a particular state, you check with that state directly to see if it will accept your NCBTMB approved continuing education. This way, you can offer accurate, up-to-date details to your participants, and feel confident about where you are planning classes.
