Board Certification Awarded College Credit from Siena Heights University
Board Certification from NCBTMB is recognized as the equivalent of 33 College Credits toward a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Massage Therapy
Oakbrook Terrace, IL (December 13, 2013) – For the first time, Board Certificants will be awarded college credit toward a degree. Effective immediately, Siena Heights University will recognize Board Certification as valued at 33 of the 120 total credits required to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Massage Therapy.
“We are thrilled to further increase the value of Board Certification and continuing education with Siena Heights University,” Steven Kirin, CEO of NCBTMB explained. “Through the convenience of online courses, this becomes a national program that further recognizes and advances our profession.”
The Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Massage Therapy from Siena Heights University requires 120 credits. With current Board Certification, recipients will receive 33 credits to apply toward the total degree requirement. To fulfill the remaining credits, students will be required to register for other coursework in the areas of Management, Health Care Management, Professional Communication or Social/Behavioral Sciences—all designed to assist with the business/human relations aspect of a successful massage career.
Degree completion is available entirely online for those who live around the country. Courses are also available by attending any one of Siena Heights University’s various Michigan locations. Applicants must present proof of Board Certification to Siena Heights University to be awarded credit. National Certification will not be applicable toward this program.
