As a nonprofit organization, NCBTMB volunteers are vital to our success – and the success of our certificants. While day-to-day operations are handled by an experienced team of staff members, it is our volunteers who contribute the real-world expertise and experience needed to drive our organization and its mission.

NCBTMB volunteer opportunities include:

  • Subject Matter Experts

Currently, we are seeking volunteers in the following areas:

Approved Provider Committee – We have current availability for members of the Approved Provider Committee. Applicants must have teaching experience, preferably in Continuing Education, and current National Certification.

Eligibility Committee – Eligibility Committee members evaluate appeals submitted by applicants who have been deemed ineligible for National Certification due to their inability to pass our background check requirements. Minimum requirements for this volunteer position include five years of experience in the massage profession and current National Certification.

Subject Matter Experts – We are seeking SMEs with superior writing skills to work on a short-term item development project. Volunteers should have a broad knowledge of massage and bodywork and should understand and respect the importance of confidentiality and exam security.
