Exciting news for Board Certificants! Increase the value of your Board Certification with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Massage Therapy. Effective immediately, Siena Heights University will award current Board Certificants 33 college credits toward the total 120 credits required to achieve this degree.

Requirements for Bachelor of Applied Science Degree

It is strongly encouraged that all BAS Degree candidates have 60 to 90 transfer credits before beginning with Siena Heights. The entire degree requires 120 credits, 33 of which are awarded with proof of current Board Certification. In addition to transferring in all previously completed college coursework, recipients must complete additional credits by registering with Siena Heights University in the areas of Management, Health Care Management, Professional Communication or Social/Behavioral Sciences. All available courses are designed to help recipients effectively execute the managing/marketing of the business and human relations side of their careers.

Additional credits will be awarded to recipients who wish to complete optional, documented massage work hours outside of those required for Certification.  Recipients will work directly with an academic advisor from Siena Heights University to determine the appropriate number of additional credits awarded.

Siena Heights University provides the convenience of online courses (as well as 7 campus locations in Michigan). Online classes are structured in weekly units for a duration of 8 weeks. How Board Certification College Credits Are Determined

Siena Heights University awards 33 credits for Board Certification using a simple 30:1 ratio. One credit is awarded per 30 hours of documented massage education and training. The required 750 hours of documented massage education and the 250 hours of documented massage work total 1000 massage hours; divided by 30, the total number of credits awarded is valued at 33.
