NCBTMB Releases 2017 Certification Board Election Results
Burr Ridge, Ill. (March 1, 2017) – The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today all professionals up for election to its Certification Board were positively voted through. All four professionals will take on the new role as of March 1, 2017.
“It was wonderful to witness our highest voting percentage in recent years in support of those elected to the Certification Board,” commented Steve Kirin, chief executive officer. “As NCB continues to evolve, it is important to us and our partnering organizations to maintain stability and unity—which was the basis for our recent slate-style election. This election provided NCB’s current Board of Directors the opportunity to transition over to the newly-structured Certification Board. We are thrilled the profession voiced such strong support of these professionals and their new roles within the organization.”
The four Board Members elected and transitioning to the NCBTMB Certification Board are as follows: Brenda Jeanne Baker, BA, MA, LMT, BCTMB, Jill Kristin Berkana, LMT, BCTMB, Teresa M. Matthews, LMT, CPT, BCTMB, and Dr. Stuart Watts, D.O.M.
The NCBTMB Certification Board is responsible for all aspects of Board Certification, including developing certification criteria and examinations, evaluating candidates for certification, and maintaining the integrity of the certification process.
