CEO Steve Kirin Announces Decision Not to Renew Contract

Burr Ridge, Ill. (March 15, 2016) – With a heavy heart, Chief Executive Officer, Steve Kirin, announced today his decision not to renew his contract with The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Kirin will remain in his current role until May 20, 2016.

Kirin began his NCBTMB journey as Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Soon after, in 2013, he was elevated to Chief Executive Officer. From the very start, Kirin made it his personal mission to audit and restructure all facets of the organization to achieve greater efficiencies, financial stability, and purpose within the profession.

Throughout the past three years, Kirin’s well-rounded background and extensive knowledge in business administration, marketing, operations, sales, software development, and human resources resulted in improved communication, identifiable and measurable goals, and efficient operations. In turn, such efforts inspired Kirin and a highly engaged Board of Directors to “steer the ship” through unchartered waters with bold decisions to exit licensure, partner with an international specialist examination board, grow relationships with major healthcare organizations, and introduce specialty certificates, among many other notable achievements.

The NCBTMB Board of Directors and Staff sincerely thank Kirin for his entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and lasting impact on the organization as it continues to live up to its mission and serve its rightful place within the profession. NCBTMB wishes Kirin the very best in all of his future endeavors.

In true NCBTMB spirit, the Board of Directors and Staff look forward to the next chapter with fierce enthusiasm as we continue to define and advance the highest standards within the massage therapy and bodywork profession. With international certificates already in place, and specialty certificates very soon on the horizon, it has never been a better time to be a part of NCBTMB and further contribute to this positive momentum.
