Two Esteemed Practitioners Join NCBTMB Board of Directors
BURR RIDGE, IL (November 13, 2014)—The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today the exciting additions of two new Practitioner members to its Board of Directors. Newly elected members Brenda Jeanne Baker and Veronica Stern will each begin their four-year term effective January 1, 2015.
With over a decade of combined experience, Brenda Jeanne and Veronica each bring a unique perspective to the highly engaged NCBTMB Board of Directors as fellow massage practitioners, educators, researchers, and practice owners. Together, both esteemed practitioners will further collaborate with fellow board members to continue building a stronger future for the massage therapy and bodywork profession through Board Certification, our evolving Approved Provider Program, and Assigned School Code Program.
Board Chair, Dr. Leena Guptha, expresses her excitement for the new members. “This year, we were presented with a high caliber of candidates, all dedicated to progress our mission of defining and advancing standards. Brenda Jeanne and Veronica bring valuable experience that will empower us to further Board Certification, evolve our relationships with schools, as well as strengthen and secure our position in the profession as the central administrator for our Approved Provider Continuing Education program. I am very excited to offer my congratulations and welcome both of them to our Board of Directors.”
Steve Kirin, CEO, further adds that Brenda Jeanne and Veronica are joining “at the best possible time to serve on the Board of Directors. Over the last year, we have strengthened our operations, customer service, outreach to stakeholders, and developed our strategic plan. Our Board of Directors is where those changes begin and end—and we’re committed to continue making decisions that serve the best interest of the profession.”
