NCBTMB New Testing Policies
Effective 1/1/09
Two new policies went into effect on January 1, 2009. If you passed your exam on or before December 31, 2008, these changes do not affect you.
Retest Policy
If you fail your exam three times, you will be required to submit 100 hours of additional education before being allowed to test a fourth time. If you fail the exam five times, you will be required to submit 500 hours of additional education to test a sixth time. Documentation for additional hours will be required, such as a transcript or certificates of completion. See the table below for specified timelines:

Failure to meet these timelines will require a new completed application and documentation of eligibility. *Requests for additional time must be submitted in writing.
English as a Second Language Policy
You will no longer be allowed to use a translation dictionary during the exam. Also, you will no longer be able to purchase additional time to complete your exam.*
