Embracing Coalition: NCBTMB and FSMTB Collaborate to Outline Volunteer-Based Organizations
Burr Ridge, Ill. (August 22, 2017)—During the May 2017 Coalition Meeting in Indianapolis, it came to the attention of leaders at NCBTMB and FSMTB that our profession needed a resource to better identify and connect with the volunteer-based organizations serving us. In the spirit of collaboration, the leaders of the NCBTMB and FSMTB Board agreed to join forces to write an article outlining the mission of all volunteer-based organizations and how they work to serve our community.

NCBTMB Launches 2017 Job Task Analysis Survey
Burr Ridge, Ill. (August 16, 2017)—The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today a 2017 Job Task Analysis Survey, available now through September 4, 2017.
This research project is designed to elicit your input on the tasks performed by massage therapists and the knowledge required for massage therapists at different levels of experience. Results of this survey will help to further define the relevant competencies for varying levels of experience.
NCBTMB and American College of Healthcare Sciences Launch Spa Management Specialty Certificate Program

NCBTMB Announces Change in Energy Work Acceptance, Introduces New Instructor Qualifications

(June 19, 2017)—The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today key updates to its Approved Provider for Continuing Education Program, including a change to Energy Work Acceptance and the addition of Instructor Qualifications for all new Approved Providers. Both changes are effective immediately.

NCBTMB Announces Course Type Now Required on All AP Certificates of Completion and Achievement
Burr Ridge, Ill. (April 21, 2017)—The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today that all Approved Providers must state Course Type on all Certificates of Completion and Achievement, effective immediately.
