Recertification options and requirements


Designed to keep national certification at the forefront of the massage and bodywork field, NCBTMB’s recertification program focuses on continued excellence, not just continuing education.

Certificants are required to submit forty-eight (48) continuing education hours and 200 hours of work experience completed during the four-year certification cycle. Work experience can include:
  • Massage Therapy and/or Bodywork(all types, includes Energy work)
  • Volunteerism
  • Administration
  • Teaching/Teaching Assistant
  • Curriculum Development
  • Writing/Publishing
  • Research
