Recertification options and requirements

Designed to keep national certification at the forefront of the massage and bodywork field, NCBTMB’s recertification program focuses on continued excellence, not just continuing education.

Certificants are required to submit forty-eight (48) continuing education hours and documentation for 200 hours of work experience completed during the four-year certification cycle. The program is extremely flexible and offers ten options, which allows certificants to recertify on their own time, budget and schedule.

Options include:
  • CE hours from NCBTMB Approved Provider
  • Certifications outside of NCBTMB
  • Academic course work
  • College degree
  • State and national presentations
  • Holding national and state leadership positions
  • Clinical internship
  • Research
  • Publications
  • Self-directed learning projects
For complete information, download pdfs of the Recertification Application and the Recertification Reference Guide. You can also click here to order copies or call 1-888-802-6600 and ask that Publications #690 and 689 be sent to you.
