I have taken 3 DE all with a minimum of 25 CEU's. Not only did I have to be diciplined to do the work independantly, I also had to conduct clinical trials, and maintain contact with the provider either via email or telephone. Not only did I feel that the work was more challenging, I was able to receive more 1 or 1 attention and feedback from the provider. Also, with the DVD's, I am able to get a closer view than if I was in a crowded classroom and I can watch it at any time for future reference. With the in person classes, I find myself drained and unable to retain all of the information given. With DE's, I am able to take a mental break whenever I need one without the risk of missing an important concept. I wouldn’t categorize all distance learning courses as being easier.
