Volunteers are the backbone of NCBTMB. Because while day-to-day operations are handled by a team of dedicated professionals; it is the volunteers who contribute the real-world expertise necessary to ensure that NCBTMB remains true to its mission.
Volunteers come to NCBTMB with a wide range of interests, experience and education. Workgroups include:
- Examination development
- Leadership development
- Continuing education
- Government relations
- Ethics and standards

- Bylaws, policies and procedures
- School outreach advisory panel
